Vitamin B6 is essential for nerve function, and a deficiency can cause nerve damage over time. Symptoms include:

  • The hands and feet are tingly or numb.
  • A “pins-and-needles” sensation
  • Poor coordination or muscle weakness

Because these symptoms resemble circulatory issues or nerve disorders, many people do not associate them with low B6 levels.

4. Skin Rashes and Cracked Lips

A deficiency in vitamin B6 can cause skin and lip problems, including:

  • Itchy, red, and flaky skin (seborrheic dermatitis)
  • Cheilitis, or painful fractures in the corners of the mouth
